All eight films from the slasher teen movie franchise. In 'Friday the 13th' (1980), a group of fun-loving teenagers take jobs at a recently re-opened summer camp, unaware of the circumstances that had led to its closure: the drowning of a young boy named Jason and subsequent murder of two counsellors over 20 years before. No sooner has the camp re-opened for business than the killing begins again.
In 'Friday the 13th: Part 2' (1981), the action takes place in the vicinity of the infamous Camp Crystal Lake, where the counsellors from the neighbouring holiday camps come visiting and thus make themselves available to the grisly attentions of the psychotic Jason. One by one the carefree teenagers begin to disappear, their bodies turning up slaughtered in a variety of imaginative ways. In 'Friday the 13: Part 3' (1982), a gang of friends take a cottage at Camp Crystal Lake, unaware of the recent spate of murders.
They are terrorised by a motorcycle gang, but help comes their way from an unexpected quarter. In 'Friday the 13th: Part 4' (1984), eager to continue with his life's work, everyone's favourite summer camp killer, Jason, gathers up his tools and embarks on another round of teenage apocalypse. This time, though, the hockey-masked murderer might have met his rival in the freestyle slaughter stakes.
For when he starts terrorising the Jarvis family, he hasn't counted on the canny skills of young Tommy, a horror expert who is knowledgeable in the ways of masks and make-up, and plans to give the Crystal Lake creep a run for his money. In 'Friday the 13th: Part 5' (1985), Jason is back from the dead and he's hacking his way through teenage America once again. This time he's decided to visit his talents upon the young residents of a halfway house.
What follows is the usual mix of creative teen dismemberment and screaming. In 'Friday the 13th: Part 6' (1986), Jason, the psycho in the hockey mask, has been killed many times over by the time he's dug up again in this sequel, so no one should be surprised when he resumes his activities with undiminished enthusiasm. In 'Friday the 13th: Part 7' (1988), a young girl with ESP visits Crystal Lake with her mother and psychiatrist.
Her telekinetic powers resurrect Jason from his watery grave. Finally, in 'Friday the 13th: Part 8' (1989), Jason wreaks havoc aboard a cruise liner.
