Comedy written and directed by Bill Forsyth. Gregory (John Gordon Sinclair) is a gawky adolescent living in a small Scottish town. He plays on the school's struggling football team and, when the coach decides to hold a trial for new players, falls for Dorothy (Dee Hepburn), who tries out.
Despite the coach's misgivings about her gender, Dorothy is a better player than the boys and easily makes the team. When Gregory finally gathers the courage to ask her out, he is thrilled when she agrees, but is unprepared for how the date unfolds.
