Season 2 of the comedy series continues to explore the evolving relationship between legendary Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and her young, up-and-coming comedy writer Ava (Hannah Einbinder) as the pair embark on a cross-country road trip work-shopping Deborah’s new stand- up routine. Jean Smart won an Emmy®, Golden Globe® and SAG Award for her performance in Season 1, while Hannah Einbinder, Carl Clemons-Hopkins and Jane Adams all received Emmy® nominations. Season 2 features new recurring guest stars Laurie Metcalf, Martha Kelly, Ming-Na Wen and Susie Essman, with guest appearances by Margaret Cho and Devon Sawa.
