Richard Thorpe directs this American musical drama starring Elvis Presley. The film follows young construction worker Vince Everett (Presley) who is sent to prison for accidentally killing a man. While behind bars he discovers his passion for music and begins to nurture his talent with the help of his cellmate, former country singer Hunk Houghton (Mickey Shaughnessy).
