Matilda Lutz stars as the eponymous Marvel Comics character in this low-budget fantasy adventure directed by M.J. Bassett. When her homeland of Hyrkania is invaded by barbarians, young Sonja witnesses the slaughter of most of her people and is forced to flee into a nearby forest.
