Brendan Fraser stars in this comedy drama co-written and directed by Hikari. Phillip Vanderploeg (Fraser) is an American actor living in Japan who is struggling to make a living. Desperate, he accepts a job at Rental Family, a company which provides actors to strangers who need them to play the roles of family members or friends.
