The spooky adventure begins when the gang pays a visit to their old school chum Eric Staufer.
Eric and his research partner, Bill McLemore have invented a Hyper-Laser capable of moving people and other objects effortlessly between the real world and Cyberspace. While testing the laser they accidentally unleash a computer virus into the real world. The phantom virus terrorises the boys, destroys their lab and absorbs all the data from their computers before it finally escapes. Luckily Scooby and the gang arrive just in time to track down the phantom virus but in an unfortunate twist of fate the gang get themselves into deeper trouble and become locked in a Cyber World with a powerful creature bent on their destruction.
