Paola (Lucia Bose) is a young, beautiful woman married to a very wealthy industrialist who decides to have his wife's past investigated. The private detective's rummaging reaches Paola's former lover, Guido, and prompts him to seek her after seven years, and they reignite their passion. Now illegitimate, their affair leads to tragic events.
