David Frankel directs this double bill of comedy dramas starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. In 'The Devil Wears Prada' (2006) Andrea Sachs (Hathaway) has just graduated from college and hopes to become a successful journalist. With few opportunities available to her, she secures a job at 'Runway', America's most prestigious fashion magazine, as the second assistant to the formidable editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Streep).
However, Andy knows nothing about fashion and struggles to fit in with her new co-workers. She must also contend with Miranda's endless, often impossible demands but as she becomes more committed to the job, she risks losing herself completely. In the sequel 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' (2026), Andy has become a successful reporter in the two decades since she left 'Runway' magazine but when she is unexpectedly made redundant, she accepts an offer to return to 'Runway' as the features editor.
Meanwhile, Miranda is struggling to navigate a recent scandal and the rapidly changing world of print media while her former assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) is now thriving at Dior. As Andy attempts to find her place at 'Runway' once again, she discovers that not only is Miranda's position in jeopardy, but so is the future of 'Runway' itself.
