Steve McQueen, James Garner and Richard Attenborough star in this classic war drama directed by John Sturges. During WWII, a collection of hardened Allied prisoners known to be persistent escapees are moved to a new camp. Despite knowing that execution awaits any man who attempts another escape, the prisoners plan to break out 250 men simultaneously and begin digging three tunnels as part of their scheme.
However, things do not go according to plan and those who do escape are pursued relentlessly across Europe by German forces. The cast also includes Donald Pleasence, David McCallum and James Coburn.
