All eight episodes from the first season of the crime drama based on the memoir by Jake Adelstein. American reporter Jake Adelstein (Ansel Elgort) is the first foreigner to be hired by prestigious Japanese newspaper Meicho Shimbun and is made to prove himself by starting in a junior role. His desire to climb the professional ladder and his growing interest in the dark underbelly of Tokyo leads him to connect with Hiroto Katagiri (Ken Watanabe), who exposes Jake to a hidden Tokyo where the yakuza assert their dominance over the city.
